The youngster slammed a century on his first-class debut in Goa’s Group C Ranji Trophy match against Rajasthan. The feat came exactly 34 years after Sachin, then 15, began his journey to greatness with an unbeaten 100 against Gujarat at the Wankhede Stadium.


Saurashtra’s 22-year-old Jay Gohil slammed a double-century off 216 balls against Assam in his maiden First Class innings. He became the 13th Indian to score a double-century on his FC debut.


Elsewhere, Rinku Singh struck back-to-back fifties against Bengal. His First Class average has now crossed 60 in 52 innings.
